Pregnancy and disability?

My husband and I would like to have a baby. I work full time but do not receive medical benefits from my employer that I I'm on my husbands insurance. When I asked my work on maternity leave who said I can not get from them as I am not part of the health plan and could use my vacation time. The thing is that probably only have about 4 weeks time and I'd need to take time off before the baby is born because to the extreme physical demands of my work (cleaning). What is a girl to do? I ideally like to leave my job in six months prego and I stand up and be constantly lifting etc. I can present disability "throughout the state? I live in Vermont and have no idea where to start. My husband pays most of our expensess but I need money for my car loan, etc. Thanks!

Pregancy is not a disability, is a condition. And there is no reason to stop working unless you problems and the doctor tells you to stop working. I worked until I turned, and lifted much heavier things, such as caskets and dead. I was on my feet also, I had no problems. If you stay active throughout pregnancy, will have an easier labor and lose the baby weight faster. There is no reason smoking cessation, and certainly not entitled to disability.
